Meet Jason — the shy sweetheart with a heart of gold!Jason is a 1-year-old Lab mix who came to the shelter with his brother, Spotty. The shelter environment is a bit overwhelming for him, so he can seem shy and unsure in his kennel. But with patience, kindness, and a calm approach, Jason shows just how sweet he really is. He is making progress learning to walk on leash and is gaining confidence. Once he’s out of the kennel and in a quieter space, Jason relaxes and starts to come out of his shell. He’s a gentle, friendly boy who wants to trust and connect — he just needs a little time.Jason is very treat motivated and enjoys foraging for snacks, which helps build his confidence and makes training fun. His previous owners reported that he was housetrained, loved car rides, did not try to escape, and was not destructive. They also shared that Jason was friendly with adults, kids, and other dogs. Jason was surrendered through no fault of his own when his family could no longer care for him. With a patient adopter and a loving home, this sweet boy has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
