Meet Gus â The Distinguished Gentleman with a Nose for Snacks Gus may be a seasoned 11-year-old, but donât let his age fool you â this long-bodied, short-legged gentleman still knows how to march straight to the treat jar with precision. He may even give you those soulful Basset eyes to make sure you donât forget his snack quota. Gus was reportedly an inside dog, housetrained, and a pro at riding in the car. Heâs also had obedience training. He knows his âsitâ and âcomeâ â though he may pull on leash if heâs excited, he responds well to gentle corrections.Gus was surrendered because he didnât get along with another dog in the home. The good news? Shelter behaviorists believe he can be managed in a multi-dog home with slow introductions and basic management. A meet & greet with resident dogs is recommended to see if they vibe. His previous owner also reported that he was not destructive, did not try to escape and was friendly with adults and children. He is genuinely a friendly, treat-loving companion whoâs looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort â preferably with lots of petting and occasional snacks. Gus is ready to prove that age is just a number⦠but treats are forever.
