Hi everyone!
We would like to introduce you to Mia who is approximately 5 months old. She is an
energetic
five
-month-old puppy who
absolutely
loves to be near her people
. She
came into the rescue in January after being found as a stray. Luckily, she was found by a good
Samaritan
who reached out to SGSR for help in
giving her a second chance at life
. Mia
is
g
reat with people, kids, and other dogs
. However, she can be a bit skittish at first.
Although
she
prefers to be wherever her 2-legged pack members are, she
does well in the crate and
is
about 9
9
%% potty-trained. She will
verbally alert you when she needs to go outside, or she will
go
directly
to the door
to let you know its time
.
She is so smart that she will
jump on the bed to wake you up if she has business
to do
in the middle of the night.
When her paw hits your head or you feel frantic kisses on your face,
Mia
is telling you that it is time to go.
Mia
loves
her stuffed babies, balls,
and other chew toys
. Like a typical puppy, she is curious and occasionally grabs things she shouldn't to drag around the house (socks, dish towels, etc.).
Her favorite pass time is playing with her 4-legged foster siblings, especially her 8-month-old brother. They can get rather rambunctious! At the end of the day, she does appreciate her downtime! And while she has comfy beds in several room of the house,
no bed is as good as her foster
M
om
and Dad bed
.
That's her go-to safe spot!
Mia does great
in the car
so she will be ideal
for a family that loves
outdoor adventure
.
As with any GSD puppy,
s
he requires structure
,
exercise
and discipline. She can be a little mouthy when she is at her peak energy and when visitors enter the house
, but it is only temporary as
she
corrects
easily
. She knows a few basic commands such as sit, down, out, etc.
She is
one of the
sweetest
cuddle bugs
and knows how to use her eyes to get your attention
. Our hope is that
her
new family will have a fun
, energetic
dog
s
he can
interact
with, and that they will continue to make sure
s
he grows up as a well-socialized, friendly GSD!
She would like it even better if she could go to a family that is home more often than away.
Mia is microchipped and up to date on her shots.
If you feel you have the
time,
love and patience
that Mia absolutely and unconditionally deserves,
please contact your adoption coordinator or complete an online application at our website.
She
is being fostered in
Roanoke
, VA area.
