Meet Smokey, a handsome and gentle soul discovered as a stray in Princeton, MN with his inseparable companion Sunny. These two truly stick by each other's side and love to play!
Smokey boasts unique, stunning markings and captivating eyes that he loves to look at you with. He's a quiet and calm presence, observing the world with a gentle curiosity. Though a bit shy at first, we're confident that underneath that reserved exterior lies an incredibly loving and playful cat waiting to fully blossom.
This sweet boy is highly food-motivated, with a special fondness for canned food and Churu treats - the way to his heart (and trust) is definitely through his stomach! He appreciates a cozy hiding spot where he can feel safe and secure, a place to decompress and survey his surroundings.
Despite his initial shyness, Smokey's playful spirit shines bright, especially with wand toys. He simply can't resist a feathery tail or a mouse on a string, eagerly pouncing and batting with delight. We've even noticed him gazing longingly when Sunny gets pets, a strong indicator that once he feels comfortable and safe in his forever home, he'll be at least somewhat cuddly, if not a full-fledged lap cat.
Smokey is patiently waiting for a loving home that understands the value of patience and the joy of watching a shy cat bloom.
Smokey is from a stray surrender with his brother. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
