Hecate is affectionate and playful once she trusts you, but she needs the freedom to approach people on her own terms. Giving her that space and patience allows her personality to shine, and when it does, it's incredibly rewarding. Her affection is sincere, soft, and lasting.
Hecate is believed to be a distemper survivor, which causes her to shake and wiggle-and honestly, it only adds to her charm. When she tries to play, the combination of wobbles, enthusiasm, and determination is absolutely heart-melting. She loves to play and would do best in a patient home, preferably with another dog, as canine companionship brings her comfort and joy.
She's a resilient little soul who has clearly been through a lot, and now she's ready for a home that understands trust takes time and love goes a long way. With patience, kindness, and a furry friend by her side, Hecate will be a devoted and joyful companion.
If you're looking for a special dog with so much love to give, Hecate is waiting for you.
Hecate is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 02/20/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
