Alice is a very sweet, playful girl who craves regular play and attention. She learned to
love pets through the scratchy nylon brush, and has been a regular seeker of affection
ever since. After a slow introduction with toys and treats, she has done well with calm
dogs and cats. While she did initially have lots of hissy introductions to the critters in her
foster home, Alice eventually realized that she was safe enough to interact with a diverse
group of personalities and sizes of dogs and cat. She meows a bit if her foster is late for
playtime, but is usually cat quiet. She initiates cuddles with family and strangers alike,
but does not like grabby hands or other behaviors that are rude. She loves to explore new
territory, and usually wins races with her siblings to get a toy. Poke out a finger to ask
for affection, and she usually gives a nose boop or allows petting. She will usually turn
into a purr baby at the stroke of her neck. Some days, she allows herself to be cradled
like a baby, but she really likes shoulder rides.Despite her attitude of independence,
Alice still panics a bit if she finds herself alone in a room too long, thus we feel Alice
would do best with furry friends.
I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. Once they learn more about me, they will add more information here!
Alice is from Houston, TX.. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
