General Notes | Meet Wendy, the darling black Lab puppy who is ready to fly right into your heart. While she may not have wings, her ears certainly flap like them when she's zooming through the yard on her latest adventure. Wendy is the perfect mix of "Lost Girl" spirit and a nurturing soul. She has a magical way of making every day feel like a trip to Neverland, where the only rule is to have as much fun as possible. She is sweet, brave, and just a little bit mischievous. With her sleek coat and eyes full of wonder, Wendy is looking for a family who believes in a little bit of magic and a whole lot of puppy kisses. Personality | Friendly, snuggly, and happy! Wendy loves to run around at top speed, play tug of war, and chew on teething toys. She loves to sit on laps and get scratches behnid her ears.Story | This litter was pulled from a high kill shelter in Houston. Dogs | Great with other pups! Cats | Wendy is curious about the cat in her foster home but does not bark at or chase her, she would do well with a cat sibling!Children | Would love kiddos who will play, snuggle, and give ALL the kisses! Training | In progress! Wendy is picking up on potty training, sleeps in her crate for naps and through the night, and loves to show off "sit" which she has mastered.Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows "No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks.Activity Level | Moderate. Typical puppy who loves to nap, play, repeat! Health Notes | This litter survived parvo and all 4 pups are now thriving in foster homes!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
