General Notes | Luke is a sweet soul who is looking for a soft place to land. He's great with other dogs and loves the comfort of a pack, but he's also perfectly happy being your one-and-only loyal friend. He might start off a little shy, but like any good Lab, his heart is huge and his devotion is forever. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP, and an Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. Personality | Super sweet and friendly! He was a little nervous around his Texas foster dad at first, but warmed up quickly and was licking his face in no time!Story | Luke was adopted from the shelter by a sweet family in the DFW area. Unfortunately, the family ran into hard times and had to move in with family members that wouldn't allow Luke to join. His family loved him and wanted him to find the best home and surrendered him to MHLM to become a mountain pup!Other Dogs | Great with other dogs. He's being fostered with 6 other dogs and enjoys cuddling and playing with them!Cats | Great with cats! He previously lived with a kitty and you can see in the video in his profile just how polite he is to kitty friends! :)Children | He's a sweet boy and his Foster's think he would be great with kind, respectful kiddos. He's a total lover! Training | Potty trained, crate trained, handsome as can be. This sweet boy is the whole package! Leash | Great on a leash! His previous lived in an apartment so he has had lots of leash experience! Activity Level | Low/moderate! He's happy wrestling with his foster siblings and then cuddling up with his humans on the couch! Whoever adopts this sweet boy will be very lucky! Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
