General Notes | True to her name, Sparkles is a vibrant lab mix gal who lights up every room she enters! With her glowing golden coat and a tail that never seems to stop wagging, she brings a "spark" of pure joy to everyone she meets. This girl is a total optimist who believes every stranger is just a best friend she hasn't met yet, and her happy-go-lucky energy is absolutely contagious. If you're looking for a companion who will keep your heart bright and your days full of smiles, Sparkles is ready to shine in her forever home! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP, and an Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. Personality | Super sweet and friendly! She's a total lover who always wants the humans to give her pets!Story | Sparky and Sparkles are siblings pulled from a high kill shelter in Houston. Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! She loves to play with the other two dogs in her foster home!Cats | Sparkle would do best in a cat free home. Children | Sparkles is a sweetheart who would do well with kind, respectful kiddos. She was great with the 6 and 11 year olds in her foster home. She hasn't been mouthy/bitey at all but does like to jump. Luckily, she's tiny so there isn't much risk of her knocking anyone down. :)Training | Potty trained, crate trained, sweet as can be! She's still a pup who needs some more training, but is extremely food motivated so training should be a breeze!Leash | She's an excited girl who still pulls on the leash, but she's so tiny it's manageable. Activity Level | Moderate/high! She's an energetic girl who loves to play! She absolutely loves toys of all kinds! She can usually be found with a stuffie or a ball in her mouth!Health Notes | Fully vaccinated and already fixed. She's a skinny gal who could afford to gain a few pounds, but is otherwise healthy. Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
