6/21/26 Volunteer Feedback: This girl loves belly rubs and head scratches! Amy Lee will let you pet her as long as you want! She is attentive to the person she is with, which makes you feel the love from her! Amy Lee is a good listener and does not pull on walks. She does not mind being kenneled; she plops down and relaxes right away, and does not bark much in her kennel either.
6/19/26 Volunteer Feedback: The other day I had the pleasure of stealing Amy Lee for a few hours! We went on a walk downtown, stopped at my sister's apartment for a break, and went on a long car ride with the windows down.
She is such a sweet, smart and well behaved girl. I immediately had a connection with her due to her calm and loving demeanor. It was very busy downtown but she listened very well to verbal commands. When realizing there were other dogs on the other side of the street she remained good on the leash and had almost no reaction (or didn't catch their scent until they were past us). Amy Lee was very curious in the apartment and used her sniffer to find anything she could including a dust bunny (which I think she ate), a ball of yarn, a vase of flowers, and finally a bone another dog left behind. I could definitely see her stealing snacks if left unattended but her smaller than usual husky size prevented her from being able to fully reach the counter. Huskies are known for their voices but Amy is more of an "spoke when spoken to" kind of gal. The only time I could get anything out of her was when I said her favorite words like ride, walk, treat, or "who's there?". I have a feeling she will not be at the shelter for long.
Overall, Amy Lee made for a great partner throughout the day! She's such an intelligent and beautiful dog!
5/23/26 Temporary Care Feedback: I took Amy Lee on an overnight kennel break. Let me tell you about this sweet & vocal gal!
She is SO sweet. She will happily follow you around the house room to room. In true husky fashion, she loves to be outside. She will happily sit outside and observe nature by herself and she does so quietly for as long as you let her! She did not bark or react at my male neighbor with his dogs and rode nice in the car. She is definitely curious about anything on the counter. I have a counter surfer myself so she found nothing, but I could see her helping herself if any goodies were left out! She slept quietly in her kennel throughout the night. She is dog and people friendly. She walks nicely on the leash. Best of all: she loves to tell you stories and sing to you. she is a great companion that will always keep an eye on you AND keep you company with her beautiful voice! She really is a gentle soul with the softest fur!
