Meet Honey-Bun This sweetheart is as sweet as her name suggests! Honey-Bun came to us as a stray after being found running in the roadway when our officer arrived. Since arriving, sheâs been an absolute sweetie at the shelter, and weâre head over heels for this little love bug.Honey-Bun is a Work in Progress (And Thatâs Okay!)Hereâs the thing about our girl Honey-Bun: sheâs basically an adorable, wiggly blank slate just waiting for someone patient and loving to help her discover how amazing she is.What weâve learned about her so far:?? Tiny but mighty â At just 31 lbs, sheâs perfectly portable! ?? Leash training needed â Honey-Bun doesnât know how to walk on a leash yet, but sheâs learning! Thankfully, sheâs small enough to carry when needed.??Cautiously curious with other dogs â When she met another dog at the shelter, she was a little nervous at first and let him sniff her. But after a few minutes? ZOOM! She started zooming around like the playful pup she is.?? Building confidence â During her time with our dog enrichment volunteer Caroline today, Honey-Bun was nervous and hesitant to leave her kennel. She walked a little as she got used to the leash, but needed to be carried back. Sheâs taking baby steps, and thatâs perfectly okay!Honey-Bun needs a patient, loving home that understands sheâs still figuring out this whole âpet lifeâ thing. She needs someone who will:? Teach her that leash walks are fun, not scary? Show her everyday experiences with kindness and encouragement? Give her the time and space to blossom at her own pace? Love her through the nervous moments and celebrate the breakthroughsIf you have the patience, love, and dedication to help this beautiful girl discover her best life, come meet her at the shelter (430 Bristol Dr, Statesville, NC).
