Meet Boomer, a sweet 1-year-old Carolina Dog mix who’s on an incredible journey of growth and discovery! This handsome guy came to us when his previous owner became overwhelmed with too many dogs, and he arrived pretty nervous and under-socialized. But here’s the beautiful part—with lots of tasty treats, gentle encouragement, and plenty of baby talk, Boomer has really started to blossom! He’s still a work in progress, learning important skills like walking on a leash, but he’s making progress every single day. When Boomer met another dog, he was a bit timid and defensive, but not in an “I’m going to hurt you” way—more of an “are you going to hurt me?” way. Because of this, we definitely recommend meet-and-greets with any dogs in your home, and we think a calm, respectful canine companion would be a better fit for him.
