We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.Blackie is Looking For: His forever home! Blackie is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. His experience with the world has been very limited and he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He is eager to get his fresh start with his own humans in the DC area - he's eager to explore his new area on sniffy walks and adventures! But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved, where he belongs. In exchange he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see him down there by your side?What My Foster Says About Me: Blackie is a sweet, sensitive little guy who is slowly blossoming in his foster home. He can be shy but curious in new situations, and once he feels safe, he loves staying close - following his person around and settling into cozy spots and soft blankets. He's beginning to show a playful side and enjoys calm environments, short walks, and treats. Blackie has been cautious but gentle around other dogs, even when meeting a larger, more energetic puppy. He would do best in a patient, loving home that will let him move at his own pace while continuing to build his confidence and routines.
