Francisco is Looking For: His forever home! Francisco s a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. He's eager to get his fresh start with his own humans in the DC area. Sniffy walks, romps, all the adventures in his new setting - yes, please - he's young and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet! But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved, where he belongs. In exchange he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see him by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: Francisco is a sweet pup with a gentle heart and a calm, observant nature. Since arriving in his foster home, he has been settling in beautifully and showing just how much he enjoys being part of a peaceful, caring environment. Francisco is a sensitive and affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with his people. He especially enjoys quiet moments-whether it's relaxing nearby or curling up for a nap. Once he feels comfortable, he will happily seek closeness and companionship.
He has a naturally calm demeanor and is not overly high-energy, making him a great match for a home that enjoys a balanced lifestyle of activity and relaxation. Like many young dogs, Francisco is still adjusting to new environments and learning routines. He is doing very well with structure and continues to gain confidence each day. He can be a bit cautious with new sights and sounds (such as TV or reflections), but with patience and reassurance, he continues to improve and build confidence.
Francisco is currently living with a resident dog, learning a lot from him, and has shown that he can coexist peacefully. He respects boundaries and does best with slow introductions, clear structure, and supervised interactions.
