SHADOW NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of September 2025 SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 62 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs and maybe cats! (Shadow has been cat tested and was somewhat interested. He smelled them, waggy tail and all, but was shy when hissed at.) We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Shadow is Looking For: This gorgeous, gorgeous dark and handsome boy landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. Now he's looking for his own humans to trot alongside on those sniffy walks and adventures! Making new pup pals along and having plenty of opportunity to run and play is on his wish list along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed too. But above all he wants to know where he belongs, to be under his own roof, to be safe and loved. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days.

What Shadow's foster says about him: Shadow is a dreamboat and perfect house guest. We have not had any issues with him in the home-he sleeps through the night, does well unsupervised if we need to run out for an errand and gets along great with his foster sisters. Despite his young age, he's easy going and chill. At the park he loves to play with and chase his friends (and everyone is his friend!) but at home he's the biggest couch potato…unless you're in the kitchen, then he's a big Velcro boy and super curious. He's good on leash, smart and quick with training, great in the car and is a big fan of snuggling. He does get a little nervous meeting new people or with unknown sounds but he recovers quickly and warms up to people in short time. He is smart, gentle, sweet and loving and polite. We adore having him here and know he will make a family very happy.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
