PUDDING NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Pudding Best Guess for Breed: Retriever and shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of Jan 2026 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 52 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Pudding with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that she could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Pudding is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweet mush landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and romps and all those wonderful cuddles. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well but you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. In exchange, she promises so much love and loyalty.
What do you say? Is Pudding the one you see by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: She is a shy girl but day by day her confidence has sky rocketed. She is curious about people and other dogs but still a little bit hesitant. She is great on a leash and overall a good listener. After walks, she loves to play with her toys and definitely the rowdiest then. But she loves her naps and she loves to spend quality time with us! She is overall a sweet, most of the time calm, and obedient dog!
Her crate training has been going well. She has not had accidents in the home, she is generally pretty good about her potty routine.
Heartworm information: Pudding is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Pudding has completed this activity restriction period.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
