Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of Oct 2025 SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 60 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Mufasa currently lives with other dogs and is doing well, but will need guidance on polite play. He is still learning appropriate social boundaries!

Mufasa is Looking For: A loving home where he can be part of the family. He's ready to give his love in exchange for long sniffy walks, frequent dog park visits, and belly rubs. Oh - and doggy school too so he can show you how smart he is! Can't you see this handsome guy snuggling by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me: Mufasa is such a fun, sweet boy! He is doing great in his crate as well as house training. He's incredibly smart and is picking up "sit", "place", "down", "in (crate)", "here", and "touch" already! He's very responsive to corrections and is easily handled (did well in the bath too). He's a big, goofy sweetheart who wants to be near his people. He loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and sniffy walks. I bet he would love scent training!
Mufasa is a typical GSD in that he loves attention and will let you know when he wants it. He will benefit from someone committed to providing him positive social interactions with other dogs and continuous training. He is a sweet boy with a lot of feelings and just needs a structured routine and committed family who is willing to work through some of these behaviors with him!
Heartworm information: Mufasa is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
