What My Foster Says About Me: Marley is one of the sweetest boys you could hope to meet and my favorite boy to foster. A true gentle giant, he adores his dog friends at daycare and the dog park, and he's a pleasure to walk, always happy to explore. He's very food‑motivated, which makes learning fun for him, and he sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He'll even trot right in when you point to it, and often chooses to nap there during the day with the door open.Marley is generally quiet, the only times I've heard him bark were during playful moments at the park. He can be a little unsure in new situations or around loud noises, but with a bit of encouragement (and a treat or two), he looks to his person for guidance and settles in beautifully. He's been an absolute joy to foster and has such a kind, gentle presence. Marley's sweet nature and easygoing personality make him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, loyal dog.
Heartworm Information: Marley is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Marley has completed this activity restriction period.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
