Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!

Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Ayube would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.Ayube is Looking For: Her forever home! Ayube is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. Her experience with the world has been very limited and she hasn't seen nearly enough of it. She is eager to get her fresh start with her own humans in the DC area - she's in her prime as a young adult dog and wants to explore her new area on sniffy walks and adventures! But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? What My Foster Says About Me:
Ayube is definitely cuddly and calm, she doesn't seem too interested in toys yet but my resident dog keeps trying to entice her to play and she's getting more interested. She is very sweet and when we come home or wake her up in the morning she is very excited. She does big stretches coming out of her crate and then runs circles around us and comes over for pets. When it is just us at home she follows us around the apartment and will lay on the couch. When we had two friends over she was more nervous and tended to stay in or by her crate but she's warming up to people over time. She is getting more confident on the leash and even went up the stairs into our apartment building today! She's a great dog.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
