Gets Along With: Other dogs and cats. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!

Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.Maggs is Looking For: Her forever home! Maggs is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She's eager to get her fresh start with her own humans in the DC area. She's well out of the puppy yips but still has plenty of pep in her step and wants to explore her new area on sniffy walks and adventures! But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.
What do you say? Can you see her down there by your side?What My Foster Says About Me: There are so many wonderful things to say about Maggs. She is very sweet, follows me around the house, and likes to cuddle. She enjoys being with other small dogs but is scared of bigger, energetic dogs. She has been fine with my cats.
Maggs is a delightful guest dog - no accidents! She only barks when she's scared and is learning to walk on leash. Her biggest quirk: she gets car sick on long rides (e.g., Baltimore to DC).
