Pichu is Looking For: His forever home! This handsome guy has all that awesome young-dog energy to burn and he's eager to get his own humans for that. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! Making pup pals along the way is on his wish list as well, along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. And at the end of a fun day together - cuddles. But most of all he wants to know where he belongs, to be safe and loved. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Pichu the companion you have been seeking?
What My Foster Says About Me: Pichu is truly the sweetest, most affectionate boy! He is ALWAYS so happy and will shower you with kisses. When he wags his tail (which is constantly), his entire body shakes. He is very popular at the dog park-all the other pups, big and small, love playing with him. The other dog parents love showering him with compliments about how adorable and sweet he is when he makes his rounds to say hello to each person at the park. As any other 1 year old puppy, Pichu does have a good amount of energy. For this reason, he loves trips to the dog park and long walks sniffing all the things. He is very attentive and insisted on following me around my home to ensure I never got lonely. Pichu is a very quick learner-we've been working on leash walking and he's made rapid progress in not pulling. He's also learning basic commands and knows sit. He does really well going outside to potty and understands to do his business right away. Pichu has done well in his kennel too. He has yipped a bit when I first put him in, but quickly settles down. Pichu is a loving chocolate lab that would be a great addition to any family!
Special adoption considerations: Pichu is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Pichu has completed this activity restriction period.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
