Stella is a young, easy going, and eager pup ready to play and go out on long walks with you. She is very social, gets along with other dogs and is friendly with humans. Stella is attentive, confident, and offers plenty of kisses and an adorable gaze. Stella is accepting of crate time when needed and waits to be outside for potty time; to entertain herself, her favorite toy is a squeaky hard plastic shark and chasing a ball out in the backyard.

Stella loves belly rubs and her favorite place to be is curled up next to her person. She is the most affectionate dog you will ever meet.

Medical: Stella was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Stella passed her six month test and is heartworm free!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
