WATCH MY VIDEO...Meet Scott, a handsome 2-year-old blue merle Catahoula mix who is ready to find a family who will keep up with his active lifestyle and appreciate his playful personality! Scott lived with his family his entire life, but sadly came to our shelter when their landlord said he could no longer stay. His family reported that he is good with adults, children age 4 and older, and other dogs. Scott can be a little selective with his canine friends, though, so we recommend a dog meet with any potential canine sibling. Since arriving at the shelter, Scott has been winning over our staff and volunteers, who tell us what a playful pup he is. He loves toys, especially a good game of fetch, and this active boy would love a family who enjoys running, playing, and keeping him busy. He also loves affection once he feels comfortable and is happiest when he can interact with his people. Scott knows âsitâ and will even give you his paw on command. He absolutely loves treats, although he can get a little overexcited when they appear! Learning that treats are rewards for good behavior will be an important lesson for Scott, but his enthusiasm for them can also be a fantastic motivation for training. With patience, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement, this smart boy has lots of potential to learn new skills. Scott can be a little nervous around other dogs and may bark when he sees them, so heâll need someone willing to help him feel comfortable and learn appropriate ways to handle those exciting encounters. If youâre looking for an active, playful, treat-loving companion with beautiful markings and a whole lot of personality, Scott may be your guy. Heâs ready for a family who will give him the exercise, training, affection, and attention he needs to become the best dog he can be.
