WATCH MY VIDEO...Adorable Dierks came from another shelter, so we don't know his past, but it must have been good because he has the best demeanor! He's so friendly and happy. He loves people, and he's happy to meet anyone and everyone. He's not shy at all. This social guy seems accepting of other dogs, but a dog meet is always recommended. He is an active pup, so a family who is willing to take him on long walks, and maybe to the dog park, is what he wishes for. He will need a little bit of work on leash training, but he's smart. He'll get it. He learns pretty quickly and he'll be proud to show you sit and attention. Dierks went on a Dog's Day Out with one of our amazing volunteers, and here's what he had to say: Hi friendsâ¦Today I got to spend a few hours out of the shelter, soaking up attention, fresh air, and time with my person and it reminded me just how much I love being part of someoneâs world. I walk nicely on leash (I may get a little distracted sometimes, but Iâm easily redirected), I like toys, play gently, Iâm silly, and love rolling on my back..but honestly... My favorite thing in the whole world is being close to my human. Sitting on your lap, curled next to you, face-to-face â thatâs my love language. I even love selfies⦠because it means I get to snuggle right up with you. I ride well in the car (Iâll happily volunteer as your co-pilot up front), Iâm treat motivated, and Iâm ready to be someoneâs perfect little companion. Couch time? Netflix and chill? I was made for that life. Iâve been getting overlooked⦠and that part is hard. I donât want much, just a person to love, a couch to share, and a place where I donât have to keep waiting. I lean in when people stop by, hoping this might be my turn. I watch them walk away, and I wonder when someone will finally choose me. If youâve been looking for a loyal heart, a gentle companion, and a best friend who just wants to be close â Iâm right here. Still hopeful. Still waiting.
