WATCH MY VIDEO...Sweet Cookie has been through so much, and her little heart is still learning what it feels like to be safe. Cookie is 5 years old, and the kennels are simply too overwhelming for her. Most days she curls up in our staff office, where she finally feels calm and protected. She came to the Humane Society of Broward County after living outdoors, and this is the safest she has ever felt. She loves cozy blankets, belly rubs, and being close to kind people. She loves being outside and likes to run and enjoy the sun. Her behavior team at the shelter has been helping her gain confidence, and she is responding well to the love, treats, and reassurance they give her each day. She is still cautious in her kennel, but once she feels safe, she is the sweetest little companion. Cookie is looking for a quiet and patient home where she can finally relax and know that everything will be all right. If you have a well-mannered dog, a meet and greet is recommended. It is unknown how she is with cats. Cookie needs someone who will offer her comfort and kindness. If you can give Cookie the fresh start she deserves, please come meet her or share her story. She is ready for a family to call her own. Thanks to Dollyâs Dream, they have kindly paid her adoption fee. To meet Cookie, visit humanebroward.com and complete the pre-adoption application and then stop by. The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, and the adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977.
