Meet Daphne At 4 years old and 106 pounds of pure gentleness, Daphne is a stunning Mastiff-type girl ready to begin a brand-new chapter. She was found by a kind Samaritan who took her in for a few days and quickly realized just how sweet and affectionate this big girl truly is.Itâs clear Daphne hasnât always known the comforts of a loving homeâshe was likely used for breedingâand sheâs still working on gaining a little weight and rebuilding her strength. Even so, her heart is enormous. Every soft tail wag, gentle lean, and affectionate cuddle shows just how much she wants to connect with her people.Daphne is a low- to medium-energy dog who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle. She loves human attention and would be happiest spending her days lounging nearby, going on daily walks, and enjoying both physical and mental enrichment to keep her content and prevent boredom. She also loves car rides and is happiest when she gets to tag along for adventures with her people.Daphne is currently learning how to properly introduce herself to other dogs. We have learned she tends to prefer submissive male dogs, but her introductions can be VERY forward and will need proper guidance and management. She is food-motivated, takes treats politely, and already knows the cue âsit.â Daphne thrives with positive-reinforcement training, which helps strengthen her bond with her person and build positive associations as she settles into home life.Daphne is also potty trained and has been doing wonderfully adjusting to home routines. Her foster describes her as incredibly sweet, gentle, and easy to love.Due to her size and strength, Daphne is looking for a home with older children and an adopter who has experience with Mastiff or large-breed dogs. In return, she offers unwavering loyalty, affection, and the kind of quiet companionship only a gentle giant can give.Daphne has waited long enoughâsheâs ready to finally be someoneâs family. And anyone lucky enough to adopt her is going to get one very, very good dog.
