Meet Bo, one half of the adorable brother duo named by their biggest fan, Chuck! Bo spent his early life living outdoors, so the indoor world, leash walking, and busy environments were all brand new to him. At first, he was reserved and unsure â but since being in the shelter during heartworm treatment, Bo has come out of his shell a lot. Heâs discovering that people are safe, life can be fun, and affection feels pretty great. When he first arrived, leash walking was completely new to him â in fact, it took staff about a month of patient work to help him feel comfortable enough to walk on a leash without âpancakingâ and freezing up. With consistency and encouragement, he figured it out, and now he does very well on leash and enjoys going for walks. These days, Bo is showing off his playful side and even getting vocal when heâs excited or engaged. He still appreciates a gentle approach, but once he feels comfortable, he leans into attention and enjoys being part of the action.Bo is a mix of sweet, silly, and sensitive. In a foster/sleepover setting, he showed just how far heâs come:Completely potty trained â no accidents in the homeVery quiet indoors with minimal barkingDid well being left alone and did not destroy household itemsLoves to ânestâ with soft or interesting items (shoes, glasses, remotes if he can find them!)Easily redirected when told ânoâEnjoys lounging in the grass on a tether and doesnât attempt to escapeOn leash, Bo is a wiggly boy, who awoo's to greet everyone and everything across his path. He has also begun to show interest in other dogs and is figuring out how to initiate play appropriately.Bo is curious but not aggressive toward cats, making him a potential candidate for a cat-savvy home with proper introductions and supervision.Bo is also:Good with all peopleNot aggressive when handled, though heâs not a fan of being picked up into vehiclesEnjoying short, calm walks as his confidence buildsHe will still need a patient, understanding home that lets him continue to decompress and grow at his own pace. A secure fenced yard is important as he continues building confidence in new environments. He is also heartworm positive and will need continued treatment and supportive care.Bo has already proven that once he feels safe, he blossoms. With patience, routine, and kindness, heâs going to make someone an incredibly loyal, funny, and deeply rewarding companion
