Meet Luke â The Bossy, Brilliant, Fun-Loving Cattle Dog Mix Meet Luke, the black-and-white brother who has officially traded in his shy beginner phase for a big personality and an even bigger opinion about everything.Luke spent most of his early life living outdoors. When he first arrived, leash walking was completely new to him â in fact, it took staff about a month of patient work to help him feel comfortable enough to walk on a leash without âpancakingâ and freezing up. With consistency and encouragement, he figured it out, and now he does very well on leash and enjoys going for walks.Luke is curious, observant, and often the first one to investigate whatâs going on⦠or decide how things should go.Luke is full of energy, intelligence, and character. He LOVES activity and thrives when he has a job to do or something fun to engage his brain and body. His favorite things include:The flirt pole (his absolute favorite)Carrying a soccer ball while playingExploring and âsupervisingâ his environmentRubbing along fences like a catInteractive play and attention from his peopleLuke is also quite vocal and expressive, especially when excited or engaged. He plays hard and can get mouthy in a playful way, including gentle nipping during excitement or play sessions â because of this, he is best suited for an adult-only home or a home with older, dog-savvy kids.On leash, Luke does very well and enjoys going for walks. He enjoys other dogs and will happily play, but he prefers to be the boss of his space. Luke does not want to share his home, toys, or potty areas with other dogs, so he is looking for a single-dog household where he can be the center of attention.Luke is not a fit for a cat household.Lukeâs Ideal Home:Active home that can keep him physically and mentally engagedExperienced adopter who understands high-energy, intelligent herding breedsSecure fencing or supervised outdoor timeA family who enjoys training, structure, and interactive playOlder children (if any) due to his excited, mouthy play styleA home where he can be the one and only petLuke is not a dog who wants to sit on the sidelines â he wants to be involved in everything. Without proper outlets, he will create his own âadventures,â so he needs an adopter who can channel his energy into productive, fun activities. With the right structure, consistency, and engagement, Luke is going to be an incredibly fun, loyal, and entertaining companion. Heâs smart, driven, and full of personality â he just needs a home that can keep up with him and appreciate his bold spirit.
