Neekoâs Story â Please Read ?? I need people to read this one all the way through, because Neeko is running out of chances and itâs not his fault.Neeko is only 3 years old, but he has already been in multiple homes, multiple fosters, and now back at the shelter again. Not because heâs a bad dog â but because he has never had a stable life long enough to learn how to be one.Neeko came to PAC in January 2023 as a 7-week-old puppy from Rayville, Missouri. He went to foster, then was adopted in April 2023 â what should have been his forever home. But on 9/2/25, Neeko was surrendered after the ownerâs wife passed away. From what we were told, Neeko was allowed to run freely through the neighborhood and was never socialized with people â only his owners. When he was surrendered, he was shaking so badly it looked like he was having seizures. He hid in the smallest corners and just whined. He was absolutely terrified.Since that day, Neeko has been bounced around over and over:9/11/25 â Foster to adopt ? returned because he was âtoo bigâ9/20/25 â Went to a foster to decompress1/3/26 â Returned from foster1/20/26 â New foster who considered adopting3/10/26 â Returned because they were going out of town and decided not to adopt3/10/26 â Went to foster to adopt again the same day3/21/26 â Returned againThat is at least 5 different homes since September.Imagine being that dog.One foster said:âHeâs a sweet boy. He knows how to shake and sit. He takes treats very gently. He loves stuffed toys and watching TV. He adjusted well when we moved his bed. He never had accidents, never chewed anything, and doesnât have separation anxiety.âAnother said:âHe is very well potty trained. He really needs a fenced yard where he can run. He remains a challenge but I think the right home could reduce his energy and anxiety.âThe most recent return said:He doesnât walk well on a leash, doesnât like men, and is becoming destructive when people come to the door. But hereâs the thingâ¦This sounds like a dog that is regressing from being bounced around his entire life.Every time he starts to adjust, he loses his home again.Every time he trusts someone, they disappear again.Every time he feels safe, he gets moved again.Heâs learned how to sit, shake, and be a good boy â but heâs never been taught that people donât leave.Neeko doesnât need perfection.Neeko needs consistency. He needs a patient home, a fenced yard, structure, and someone who understands that scared dogs donât learn overnight. He is:Potty trainedKnows sit and shakeGentle with treatsLoves stuffed toysLoves watching TVProtective of his homeWalks better away from the house than toward itDoes fine when left aloneNeeds a fenced yardNeeds patienceNeeds stabilityNeeds someone who wonât give up on himHe is not a bad dog.He doesnât need fixing. He needs stability. If youâve read this far, please share Neeko.Because what he really needs is one person who wonât be another goodbye. ????
