Meet Babe, a 14-year-old Maltese weighing about 9 pounds, and every bit the tiny, fluffy angel she appears to be. Babe came to us after her beloved owner had to move into a nursing home, a heartbreaking transition for them both. It's clear she was deeply loved, and she carries that gentle, devoted spirit with her everywhere she goes.
Like many senior pups, Babe is a little hard of hearing, but she still enjoys the quiet comforts of home and being close to her people. She would do best in a calm, cozy environment where she can enjoy her golden years with a soft lap, a comfy bed, and someone who appreciates the special magic that senior dogs bring.
Babe does have a 5/6 heart murmur and takes medication that she will need for the rest of her life. She is doing well with her treatment, and we are happy to talk with potential adopters about her care.
Senior dogs like Babe don't ask for much, just love, kindness, and a little place to belong. In return, they give a quiet, steady devotion that only comes with age. If you're ready to open your heart to a tiny companion with a lifetime of love still to give, Babe may be the perfect addition to your family. Her minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
