Mabel (A140604) is a 7-month-old mastiff mix who weighed nearly 70 lbs at intake!12/23/25 Miss Mabel is back and ready for action! She turned out to be a bit too hyper for her adoptive family. While in their care she was stated to do well with strangers, adults, and dogs! As previously written, she would highly benefit from attending a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners. She is a young girl just looking for some guidance! If you are interested in meeting Mabel, please let us know! 12/13/25 This goofy but sweet girl is Mabel! Mabel was described as being outgoing and friendly, though she can be nervous in new situations. She is looking for a patient home that can help her with her confidence and training. Miss Mabel has been known to jump on people and counters and get into things she shouldn't, including the trash when given the opportunity. She knows how to sit on command, but her previous owner described her as `not very clever.` Enrolling Mabel in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start to set her up for success. She is still a young pup trying to find her place in the world. She needs help with potty training, but she is said to be kennel trained. Mabel had a urinalysis done at the shelter and the vet found that she had a urinary tract infection. She was treated with antibiotics and cleared for adoption! Mabel is also a large dog who does not realize how big she is. She can play roughly, as well, so it may be best if there are no little kiddos in her next home to prevent any accidents. We also recommend no cats in her next home because she likes to chase them. Mabel was said to be playful towards other dogs! She has been known to jump fences, so make sure she is on a secure tie out or well supervised when outside. If you think you are the right match for Miss Mabel and can give her the patient and emboldening home she needs, please give the shelter a call!
