ODIE

Odie (A141604) is a 10-month-old heeler mix who weighed nearly 50 lbs at intake!03/28/26 This happy little dude is Odie! Odie was brought to the shelter because he and the other dog in the home were not getting along. It is likely that the older dog did not have the patience for a young, energetic dog. We are recommending Odie be the only dog in his next home to make sure no repeat offenses happen. Odie was described as an outgoing, friendly and affectionate pup who can sometimes play roughly. He is said to be kennel trained and housebroken, and he knows a lot of tricks, including sit, stay, shake, high five and roll over! Odie was said to be very excited about meeting new friends, no matter the age or species. This can come across strong and affronting to some animals, so please make sure to do slow and controlled introductions. Odie has been known to get into the trash when given the opportunity, so make sure all trash cans are secured if leaving him unsupervised. He has been known to jump on people, but he was said to generally mind well and to ride well in the car. During his neuter procedure, our shelter vet discovered some chipped teeth and recommends following up with your vet within a year to discuss treatment.
