DIESEL

Diesel (A134529) is a 7-year-old husky mix who weighed just over 40lbs at intake!01/22/26 Diesel was surrendered back to the shelter due to no fault of his own. While in their care, he was described as an outgoing and friendly dog who loves too much. We have found that Diesel can be a little anxious and was said to enjoy companionship. His next owner may want to discuss with their vet on how to make Diesel feel most at ease. He was said to do great with people of all ages including babies and children. Diesel was also said to get along well with other dogs but had no experience with cats in his last home. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new animals. Diesel was stated to be kennel trained and was kenneled when his humans were not home. He knows his basic commands as well as “go potty”. He was said to whine and pace when he needed to go outside to relieve himself. We did find that Diesel was in need of a dental on arrival at the shelter and courtesy of the shelter fund he got the care he needed. Unfortunately, Diesel's previous owners were put in a position where they needed to move and could not find housing that allowed pets. Diesel was described as being friendly, outgoing and affectionate! He was said to be kennel trained and housebroken and rides well in the car. He was said to get along with humans of all ages and other animals! His prior owner even called to state that he enjoys cuddling with cats! If you are planning to introduce Diesel to other animals, please do so in a slow and controlled manner and keep in mind that huskies tend to have high prey drives. Per his previous owners, Diesel likes pets everywhere except his bum, and he will talk at you if you venture too far. Diesel knows some basic commands, such as sit and stay.
