Lyra (A141196) is a 4-month-old Lab mix puppy who weighed nearly 40 pounds on intake! Foster update: Lyra is back from a foster break and is still looking for her home! While in foster, they had fabulous things to share! She did great with their children and has a very playful demeanor. However, keep in mind that she is a puppy and plays roughly. Lyra was said to have LOVED going on walks out in the snow and just thought it was the best! It was noted that she is not kennel-trained and will cry/bark if left kenneled. She was said to have been mastering her basic commands and generally minds well. In foster, she was a bit too rambunctious with the cats in the home and would do best in a home without feline companions. If you have been looking for an active pup to join the fam, please consider Lyra! 03/08/26 Miss Lyra is a hefty puppy full of energy! Her most recent owners said she happily followed them around the house and was a big snuggle bug! But her exuberant energy was not greatly appreciated by their preschooler. So while Lyra was super happy to try and play, she just doesn't have the experience yet to know how to play with little kids carefully yet. So a kind, patient, family and slow, controlled introductions with all new friends is what Mrs. Lyra is looking for! If that sounds like your family please give the shelter a call!02/28/26 Miss Lyra is back at the shelter after an overnight adoption due to a family member being allergic to her. If you are interested in meeting this little spitfire, please give us a call!02/19/26 Lyra arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her new family! In typical puppy fashion, she will need continued help with potty training, kennel training, basic commands, and positive socialization. Please keep in mind that puppies are a lot of work, but she is worth the reward! We have found Lyra to be quite the talker while at the shelter, and she is looking for a patient owner who will help her as she grows! We do not know if this girl has experience with children or other pets. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and animals to help set her up for success. If you have been considering adding a canine companion to your family and are interested in meeting this pup, please let us know!
