JARVIS

Jarvis (A141663) is a 3-year-old Aussie mix who weighed over 60 lbs at intake!04/03/26 This handsome guy is Jarvis, and he unfortunately had to come to the shelter due to the lack of pet-friendly housing in Fairbanks. Jarvis can be shy in new situations and around people, but he is quite sweet once he is comfortable! Jarvis is said to be kennel trained and housebroken, and he will scratch at the door to let you know he needs to go out. He was said to ride in the car and was described as being friendly and affectionate. He has been known to play roughly and sometimes to not mind very well. Jarvis arrived at the shelter with a mysterious oily product in his coat, having gotten into the trash the night before. He promptly received a bath upon intake so he could look his best for his new family! Jarvis was said to know some basic commands, such as kennel, sit, outside, and load up. He can be wary of strange humans and strange dogs, so slow introductions are a must. He has been known to chase cats if they run away from him. While we are not requiring he go to a home without cats, please reconsider if your cat is not confident around dogs. Jarvis is used to being free roam in the house during the day, but he usually slept in his kennel at night in his previous home.
