MILO

Milo (A141113) is a 1-year-6-month-old border collie x poodle mix who weighed over 40 lbs at intake!02/07/26 This sweet and affectionate guy is Milo! Milo was brought to the shelter due to no fault of his own. He was described as being shy but friendly, and he does get nervous around some strangers. He was said to do well with dogs. He does not have experience with cats or other kinds of animals, so please use caution if planning to introduce him to any. Milo was said to be housebroken and kennel trained, but he would spend most of his time loose in the house. He has been known to jump on people, so he may need some help with manners but he was said to know some basic commands such as sit, roll over, lay down, and paw. Milo will sometimes growl when he is nervous. It is important to note that growling is communication and not aggression. We can help Milo through this by respecting his space when he asks for it and educating ourselves on subtle stress signals in dogs and allowing him to reset and not punishing him for growling. Treats also help! Milo is a young dog who still has some digging and chewing habits.
