Mona came to SoCo Rescue after her former owner was forced to give her up by his landlord or pay a hefty pet deposit. The owner, who is also disabled and living on a very small fixed income, felt it best to re-home Mona, and we were more than happy to help.

Mona has been extremely friendly since arriving at our rescue. She prefers to be in the company of people and has gotten along great with other dogs. In fact, she's not displayed any signs of aggressive behavior to anyone at all. She loves to be held or curl up on someone's lap. We have been working on her crate training and while she doesn't particularly like being crated, she is becoming accustomed to being so. Mona would be great for anyone seeking a small, friendly lap dog.

Mona has now been spayed and received an update on all of her annual vaccinations and de-wormings. At her recent vet exam, she tested negative for both heartworms and any parasites. We've also kept her on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Mona may require additional house training once in a new home.
