Mouseketeer is an 8 week old Chihuahua mix who weighs just 2.4 pounds and somehow manages to be both impossibly tiny and larger than life. With his short little legs, oversized ears, and overall goofiness, he is basically a cartoon character come to life. His name fits perfectly-this little Mouseketeer is brave, curious, and always ready for his next mini adventure. He's expected to stay very small, making him wonderfully portable and easy to scoop up, carry, or bundle under a blanket wherever you go.
Mousey has blossomed into a confident, playful puppy who genuinely enjoys exploring his world. He loves chasing after his foster parents, trotting around the house on his own, and climbing up onto laps before bravely crawling back down again. He's expressive and fun to watch, whether he's wagging his tail so hard his whole body wiggles or lifting one paw and cocking an ear as he studies something new. He has a bold little spirit and approaches life with curiosity and excitement!
Playtime is one of Mousey's favorite things. He adores tug-of-war, wrestling with his stuffed toys, and zooming around the house in short bursts of energy. Sometimes he runs a little too fast and trips over his own legs, but he always pops right back up and keeps going. After about 30 minutes of play, he's ready for a nap, usually curled up in his bed or burrowed completely under the covers. When he's calm and tired, he enjoys being close to his humans and soaking up quiet affection.
Mousey is also doing wonderfully with his routine. He eats all of his meals in his crate and is very happy about it-he's a true foodie and takes crate meals seriously. He's learning the layout of the home through short exploratory laps and is becoming more comfortable and confident every day. He's not a velcro dog and does well being left alone for 4-5 hours at a time, especially when he's had some playtime beforehand.
Despite his tiny size, Mousey has shown confidence around both people and dogs. He met a 60-pound lab mix and eagerly tried to play, completely unfazed by the size difference. He's also met many humansand does best when people sit on the floor and let him approach at his own pace. He's not much of a barker and has only barked twice, both times during excited play with a squeaky toy.
Mousey is smart and learning quickly. Potty pad training is going very well and his potty habits are fairly predictable.Mouseketeer is still a baby. He's not going on outdoor walks yet and currently uses a gated pen with a bed, toys, and pee pads as his main space. He is teething and loves to chew, especially on toys, blankets, drawstrings, and anything rope-like. When he's excited, hands and clothing can look like chew toys, but he's very easy to redirect. Loud noises like the vacuum or blender can startle him, and he may briefly hide under a blanket before working up the courage to investigate once things quiet down.
Mouseketeer may be tiny, but his heart, confidence, and personality are enormous. He's a joyful little reminder that bravery doesn't come from size- it comes from spirit. Whoever adopts this Mouseketeer is getting a whole lot of dog packed into the smallest, most lovable package.
