Meet Tomato - a sweet, squishy, older gentleman who is ready to be your new best friend and permanent lap warmer.
Tomato has lived his whole life without sight. His eyes were badly injured early on, so the world has always been one he navigates by sound, smell, and touch - and he does it beautifully. He also happens to be toothless, which sounds sad but is actually a hidden perk: zero dental care, ever. No tooth brushing, no dental cleanings at the vet. Just a gummy little smile and a whole lot of charm.
What Tomato does have is an enormous personality and an even bigger heart. This boy is an absolute cuddle monster. He loves being held, loves being pet, and will absolutely let you know when he's feeling neglected - he's got a voice and he's not afraid to use it. If you're looking for a quiet, undemanding cat, Tomato will respectfully disagree with that vision for your life.
Because he relies so heavily on his other senses, Tomato does best in a calm, consistent home where furniture stays in its place and the noise level stays low. He'd be fine with kids who are respectful of his need for calm. Loud, sudden sounds can startle him, so a peaceful environment is key to helping him feel safe and confident. Once he knows his space, he gets around remarkably well.
As for other pets - Tomato is totally unbothered. He's fine with cats and dogs, and honestly, he'd probably thrive with a cuddle buddy of his own. A gentle companion to snuggle up with would make this boy's world complete.
Tomato may be older, and he may look a little different - but he has so much love left to give. Adopt Tomato, and you'll have a devoted, purring shadow for life.
This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.
Tomato was rescued with dental issues and had surgery surgery, and he also needs an echocardiogram. We would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation (between $250 and $400 total) and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.
