Check out 'pocket' shepy GABY! At one years old, GABY is fully grown at just around 50-55 lbs. But don't worry bout her size! She is a BUNDLE of energy, and lovessss to play with her foster buddies, chew on her favorite bones, hassle the OG fosters in the house, and beam lots of serious thoughts at her foster mom. Gaby lived the first 8-months of her life confined 24/7 to a small crate, forced to be in her own waste, and with limited access to food and water. Because of that, and the length of time it has taken her to physically recover, she is just now starting to experience life as a 'puppy' with all that that entails - including learning boundaries and structure, and working on the beginnings of basic commands, housebreaking, crate-training and walking on a leash. Gaby's loves people of all ages and sizes, especially young kids (though she is still a bull in a china shop and will easily knock them over while performing house zoomies or becoming excited while conveying her love. She loves to be near her handler inside, and will frequently choose to lay at the feet, or on the furniture, of wherever her person is. Gaby has a submissive personality, and typically goes on her back for more dominant or older dogs. She has a fast paced, rough and tumble play style, and can wrestle like nobodies business. She also loves to chase and be chased by her buddies. Gaby does have some work to do to discontinue noisy fence-fighting, IF the dog on the other side is also a fence fighter/barrier reactive. If neighboring dogs are friendly, Gaby barks momentarily/excitedly like your average shepherd, then will settle down and go about playing and exploring. Gaby DOES have the agility to jump 3-4 foot fences, so adopers will either need a 6-ft fence, or no fence and an extended lead line. Either way, she does need eyes-on supervision outside until adopters can be sure she will no longer challenge fences - this behavior has only ever been connected to Gaby's prey-drive. Once she locks onto an animal that she is giving chase, she will not break focus until it's either caught, or gone from her line of sight. Looking for an energetic youngster that has the leaping skills of an agility star in the making? Enjoy working while your favorite GSD lays across your feet? Have a resident dog that would love a play buddy to keep them entertained? Gaby even has a buddy in her foster home that she loves playing with if you need TWODOGS: CATS: KIDS: IDEAL FAMILY:

GABY'S ADOPTION FEE: $350 This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.INTERESTED IN ADOPTING GABY?Complete an Adoption Application Now!
