Dakota - A Sweet Girl with Lots of Love to Give!
Dakota is a friendly, affectionate girl who is very happy to be settling into life with her foster family. Once she feels comfortable, Dakota will greet you with sweet leg rubs, happy little meows, and loud purrs that show just how much she enjoys being around her people.
She loves gentle head pets and chin scratches, and when she's in the mood for attention she'll happily follow you around the house - especially if it's close to mealtime! Dakota also has a playful side and enjoys batting at and "attacking" shoe strings and other fun little toys.
Dakota allows you to hold her and carry her around, and she enjoys cuddles on her own terms. Like many cats, she may give a gentle little nip to let you know she's had enough pets, or a soft head nudge to ask for more attention.
Because Dakota can be easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements, she would do best in a calm, quiet home where she can take her time adjusting and building trust with her new family. A cozy bed or a tall cat tree where she can relax and feel safe would be perfect for her.
Dakota is FIV+, but cats with FIV can live long, happy lives and can safely live and play with FIV-negative cats. In fact, many FIV+ cats are known for being especially affectionate companions! Please check out the quick facts sheet.
Dakota has so much love to give and is just waiting for a patient home where she can feel safe, relaxed, and truly loved.
Dakota is now playing in our Millsboro PetSmart adoption center. Please stop in to spend some time with her!
