Duke Just Wants a Little Peace & Love Meet Duke-A Gentle Soul Finding His Confidence Duke is a friendly, sweet boy who has come a long way since arriving at the shelter. In the beginning, he was extremely stressed-panting, overwhelmed, and sometimes simply plopping down on his walks. Now that he's getting out twice a day, we're seeing a much more comfortable Duke. He walks fairly well on leash with only a little pulling and is learning to enjoy his time outside.Duke knows "sit" and "paw," loves treats and absolutely adores pupsicles! He also enjoys sitting close to his people and soaking up some affection. He's not the type to demand attention, but those quiet moments beside you seem to mean a lot.Duke is an observant guy who enjoys sitting and watching the world go by. He can be reactive toward other dogs and squirrels, so he'll need thoughtful handling and continued guidance.He may not have shown much interest in toys yet, but that's okay-Duke is still discovering what makes him happy. Give this sweet boy patience, consistency, and a little time, and you may just become his favorite thing to watch in the whole world. When he first arrived at the shelter, Duke participated in shelter playgroups as shown in the video below. With kennel stress, he no longer participates in play groups. If given time to decompress and, with slow introductions, he may become dog social again.
