04/01/26 14:40Ellie is well known by staff and volunteers as an amazing and social dog! She frequently helps staff with dog introductions because of her calm demanor and sociability with all dogs. She is very loving and affiliative with staff and is super smart girl! Ellie is looking for a committed and loving adopter than can give Ellie the love and attention she deserves! If you want a sweet and social dog that would love to go on a long hike or just hang out with you throughout the day, then please come and meet Ellie today!!1/14/26 MHEllie is a shy, sensitive girl who blossoms with patience and kindness. She can be nervous at first and does best with slow, consent-based pettingâshe prefers gentle chest scratches to start and, once comfortable, will lean in for neck rubs and close contact. Sheâs sensitive to sudden movements, especially near her back, but has shown wonderful progress and is relaxing more with each positive interaction. Ellie may need a little patience with leashing, though she has recently improved and is making great strides. In the yard, she can be a bit cautious and should be supervised, as sheâs athletic and aware of her surroundings, but she returns to her kennel easily and has not shown recent escape attempts. Ellie truly thrives with another well-mannered dogâsheâs more confident with canine companionship and enjoys polite playmates who give her time to warm up and respect her boundaries. With a calm home and a dog friend, Ellieâs sweet and gentle personality really shines.03/08/26What did we do on todayâs adventure:Today was my first Trails & Tails adventure! I was a little shy when we first started getting ready, new people and situations can make me a little bit nervous at first. But the good news is I warm up pretty quickly once I realize everything is okay. I sat politely in the car for our ride to the walking spot. Once we arrived and started our walk, I showed off my good leash manners with minimal pulling. I like to walk nicely and take things at a comfortable pace. I know my 'sit' command and I do like treats, but here's the thing - I'm a husky, and like many of us, I can be a bit picky about my snacks. I have standards! Only the best treats will do for me. During our walk, we passed other dogs, people, and regularbikes, and I was perfectly fine with all of them. However, I did see some speedy e-bikes zoom by and I'll admit those made me a little nervous - they're so fast! What should potential adopters know about me:Ellie is a petite husky girl whomay be a little shy initially but warms up quickly once she feels comfortable and safe. With a little patience, she reveals her true sweet and friendly personality. She has good leash manners and walks with minimal pulling, making her a pleasant walking companion. She knows `sit` and is responsive to commands, though true to her husky nature, she can be picky about treats - she has discerning taste and prefers high-quality rewards! At the shelter Ellie regularly attends doggie playgroup and enjoys canine companionship, making her a great candidate for a home with another friendlydog. Ellie would thrive in a home with adopters who can give her a moment to warmup in new situations and understand the husky temperament (including their sometimes picky nature), with the right family, Ellie would be a loyal, sweet companion who brings that special husky charm to her forever home.Three words to describe me:Curious, Sweet, Polite01/16/26 18:23 placing Ellie on needs rescue d/t pt exhibiting FAS - not thriving in the shelter environment.
