LIL BRENT (A1317502) was placed on final on 01/31/2026.Lil Brent has been issued a 24 hour extension and must be pulled by 2/4/26 at 5:00 p.m. Summary of Behavior:Lil Brent is a dog who was brought in on 01/30/26 as an owner-requested euthanasia due to escalating behavioral concerns in the home. His owners reported that when people knocked at the door, he would rush forward growling, barking, and knocking items over. During intake, while speaking with staff, Lil Brent lunged repeatedly. After the owners left, he continued to display the same behaviors. Staff were required to catchpole him to move him to a kennel, where he immediately began growling, barking, baring teeth, tracking hands, and body-slamming the kennel door. Lilâ Brent has a documented history of similar behavior during a prior stay at the shelter. In October 2024, he initially presented as friendly but became aggressive once approaching the intake area, ultimately requiring a catchpole to move safely to a kennel. The following day, he reportedly charged at a staff member during feeding. Although he intermittently showed affiliative behavior outside the kennel with handlers he became familiar with, his kennel behavior repeatedly included lunging, growling, and targeting hands through the door. In February 2025, during a Dog Day Out, Lil Brent jumped up on a passerby, causing significant alarm. While no injuries occurred, the jogger reported feeling âattackedâ and insisted the dog should not be in public spaces. This incident was documented. In his previous stay and more recently, Lilâ Brent has shown a pattern of barrier reactivity, sudden escalation around unfamiliar people, and inconsistent tolerance for handling. Inside the kennel, his arousal was high and reactive; outside, he could behave amicably under low-stimulus conditions but remained unpredictable in novel or crowded environments. We do not have the resources available to care for this pet with these specific needs at this time.Path Forward:Rescue must commit and *pull* Lil Brent by 5 PM on 02/03/2026, or Lil Brent will be humanely euthanized. Rescue will also need to have a waiver signed and submitted prior to leaving with the dog.****LIL BRENT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER.
