Needs rescue urgent due to the following medical conditions:- Diabetes - well managed clinically with Bexacat, a once a day pill for diabetes- FIV+- Dental fractures and dental disease- History of infections/abscesses at legs that resolved with antibiotic treatment but given FIV status and immunocompromise, legs are still being closely monitored- Bony abnormality at R forelimb visible on x-ray - patient walks well, not overtly painful, could be due to prior trauma. Does not appear to be indicative of bone infection or cancer at this time. Monitoring wil be required._________________________________________________Looking for a mellow, loving senior cat who just wants a warm spot and gentle affection? This special boy might be your perfect match. This sweet older gentleman came to San Jose Animal Care and Services after a tough time outdoors, but youâd never guess it from his loving personality. He clearly knew the comforts of a home onceâand heâs ready to enjoy them again. He absolutely adores chin scratches, quiet company, and curling up in a soft, cozy spot near his favorite human.About his behavior:- Super sweet and affectionate â a true lap-adjacent companion- Chill, low-energy senior who thrives in a calm environmentAbout his health:- FIV+ â but can still live a long, happy life indoors - should not be an outdoor cat as he is prone to infections- Diabetic, but he was started on Bexacat, a once-a-day pill for diabetes. He is well managed at this time on Bexacat (~$150 per month)- Given his diabetes, he will need  labwork every 6â12 months for monitoring- Previously had significant infections on his front legsânow fully healed but if pain or swelling recurs will need follow-up veterinary care- Has a slightly abnormal bone in one front leg (on x-ray), likely from an old injury, but he gets around comfortably- Will need dental care/extractions with his adopter or rescue, he has broken teeth.- Despite everything heâs been through, his gentle spirit has never wavered. Heâs the kind of cat who will quietly keep you company, blink at you lovingly, and remind you to slow down and enjoy the little things.Ideal home:- A calm, indoor home where he can relax, be adored, and receive simple ongoing care. He would do best with someone who appreciates senior pets and is comfortable continuing his medical routine, and who has the resources to bring him for routine veterinary care, including dental surgery and labwork as needed.? If youâre looking to make a meaningful difference in a deserving catâs life, this sweet boy will repay you with endless love and companionship.Come meet him at San Jose Animal Care and Services and see just how special he is.
