She earned the name “Wigglebottom” honestly: when Ellie gets excited (which is often), her entire back half turns into a joyful metronome. Her tail starts wagging, her hips swing into motion, and suddenly her whole body is celebrating. It’s impossible not to smile when she gets going.Ellie is easy to leash up and comes bounding out of her kennel ready for adventure. She’s enthusiastic, curious, and brings big main-character energy to every walk. She can be a strong puller on leash, mostly because she’s so excited to see the world and doesn’t want to miss a single sniff.With continued practice and consistency, she has all the makings of a wonderful walking buddy. She’s highly treat-motivated and already knows “sit,” which gives her a great training foundation. When treats are involved, her enthusiasm sometimes outweighs her delicacy — she doesn’t always take them gently — but she’s eager, engaged, and very ready to learn.Ellie is comfortable being handled and shows nice tolerance. While enjoying a treat, her paws were gently touched and she didn’t react at all; she simply finished her snack and looked around expectantly, hopeful for more. She returns to her kennel without fuss and allows her leash to be removed easily. Like many social dogs, she did experience some kennel stress when housed next to a particularly barky neighbor and was vocal and pacing at times. After being moved to a quieter space, her stress improved greatly, and she is now calm and relaxed in her kennel. Ellie clearly thrives in a more peaceful environment and will likely blossom in a stable, loving home where her wiggly bottom — and joyful spirit — can truly shine.
