12/17/25 12:57What did we do on todayâs adventure:When Arnold saw his adventure ahead, he knew it was onâthe morning was going to be awesome. As the excellent copilot Arnold is, he jumped right into the SUV, ready for the adventure to begin. When they arrived at Hellyer County Park, they decided it was a nice, cool morning to get some real steps in. They trotted around the lake a few times so Arnold could take in all the birds, squirrels, andgeese. Then they hit Coyote Creek Trail, heading to Shady Oaks Park and back. As usual, Arnold was an excellent hiking buddy. They kept a steady pace while enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. By the end of the morning, they had walked over six miles! Of course, Arnold and his buddy took some breaks, where he was rewarded with string cheese and hot dogs for being such a great hiking companion. And, of course, he had to have his mandatory roll in the grassâhis favorite part of any adventure. What potential adopters should know:Arnold is the ultimate adventure companion! Heâs a fantastic âroaddogâ with excellent car manners and absolutely loves going forrides. If youâre looking for a hiking and exercise buddy, Arnold isyour guyâhe thrives on outdoor adventures and prefers grass anddirt trails over sidewalks.Heâs a true nature lover, always excited to explore and take in thesights. After a day of fun, Arnold transforms into an amazing cuddlerand lovebug, ready to snuggle up and relax.Three words to describe me:Loving, Active Adventurous11/24/25 11:49Alarm barking, spinning in kennel. Allows handling outside of kennel. Dog would come up and check in with handler with loose body posture. No issues returning to kennel. Recommend aNotes from Foster: Arnold lived with us briefly but impacted our hearts forever. He is a true Pit bull. Whichever room we went into, he would immediately make sure we were safe and then relax in his bed. Unless it was the bathroom. Then he would patiently wait & keep us company, you know, in case we needed protection! Hahaha Arnold loves to show & receive affection He'd alternate between every family member, making sure we each got equal love from him. If he were a human he would definitely be a hugger. He's such a kind and sweet boy that wants what we all want in life, to find our safe place in this world.Living in a shelter, you are surrounded by noise that can be overstimulating so we wanted to make sure he understood he's safe. That meant training him to walk calmly and not worry about other dogs. We made lots of great progress with his muzzle, which helped calm him while adjusting to the neighborhood dogs on our walks. Since he didn't know the dogs he was hesitant to approach and would sometimes bark. That behavior could be redirected with his favorite freeze-dried liver treats. He understands simple commands like sit, stay, down & outside and loves being rewarded for all of his efforts so naturally he earned lots of treats and cuddles.Arnold is so curious about life. If something made a sound that he didn't immediately recognize, he'd tilt his head to try and process what he was hearing. He wasn't bothered by any loud noises, should a motorcycle roar by, or if children were playing out in the playground. He is a sponge, eagerly absorbing and learning his surroundings. Arnold is a bright and brilliant boy. Living in a shelter could discourage some dogs from new environments or people, but not Arnold. Anytime a new family member would visit, he would welcome them and show them lots of love and cuddles. Arnold is such a great dog. But more importantly, he is the true definition of man's best friend. Loving and loyal and eager to explore the world around him. Devastatingly, due to my own health issues, I was unable to keep him. But I know that his forever family will gain a true Pit Bull; a loving, gentle-giant, silly-goose, with the purest heart of gold who just wants to explore the world around him with his best friends.11/12/25What did we do on todayâs adventure:As usual, Arnold was bursting with excitement the moment he saw his buddy that morning. He leapt into the back of the SUV like a seasoned explorer ready for action. Their destination? Almaden Lake â a paradise for pups with a nose for adventure. The moment they arrived; Arnold launched into hissig nature âsniff-safariâ. But when he spotted the shimmering lake and the man-made beach, it was game over. He had to splash around! He and his buddy dashed back and forth through the water at least three times. After that, they did a few laps around the lake, checking out fishermen, fellow dogs, joggers and walkers. Then it was off to the Los Alamitos Trail to keep the adventure rolling. By the end of the morning, they had clocked in a solid 5 miles. Before heading back, Arnold and his buddy stretched out in the shade on the soft grass. Arnold rolled around gleefully (his absolute favorite thing), munched on hotdogs and string cheese, and soaked up all the love and belly rubs he could get. It was the perfect ending to a perfect morning before returning to the shelter. What potential adopters should know:Not only does Arnold love water â heâs absolutely obsessed with exploring nature! Heâd much rather feel dirt, mud, and water squishing between his paws than walk on a boring old sidewalk. If you're an avid hiker or outdoor explorer, Arnold might just be your perfect trail companion. But Arnold isnât just about the great outdoors â heâs also a champion snuggler. After a long day of adventuring, heâs all aboutcurling up for a cozy Netflix night in. Arnold is a well-rounded pup with a big personality and even bigger heart. Heâd make an amazing addition to any family looking for a loyal companion whoâs always up for fun â whether itâs a mountain hike or a movie marathon.Three words to describe me:Explorative, Energetic and Inquisitive10/26/25What did we do on todayâs adventure:Arnold and his buddy kicked off their morning with a peaceful warm-up lap around Shady Oaks Park.
