Meet Mufasa! He is a 38.60 pound little chonky potato! He will need a home with older children as a lot of chaos overwhelms him. He hangs out with other dogs but we have not really seen him play. He loves his toys and enjoys playing tug of war or fetch! He's a sucker for a good back scratch and that's a quick way to become best friends!Mufasa has been diagnosed and started on treatment for skin and ear inflammation and infection, which are suspected to be secondary to allergic skin/ear disease. Common triggers of allergic skin/ear disease in dogs include fleas, environmental allergens (atopic dermatitis), and, less commonly, food allergens (cutaneous adverse food reactions). Additionally, Mufasa has been started on an oral medication (Apoquel) to control itching associated with allergic dermatitis.Mufasa's adopter is encouraged to maintain him, and all other pets in the household, of comprehensive veterinary-recommended parasite protection throughout the year, including flea prevention. Mufasa is next due for parasite protection on 5/27/26.Mufasa's adopter is encouraged to schedule an appointment with their primary care veterinarian as soon as possible. This will allow the adopter's veterinarian to review Mufasa's medical history, perform a baseline examination, and work with the adopter to establish a long-term management plan for Mufasa's skin and ear condition. FWACC reserves the right to place Mufasa in the best fit home.
