**French bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as IVDD and heat stroke, and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Lady.**
We adore Lady, and we know you will, too!
Lady is estimated to be 6 years old and is the perfect mix of goofy and polite. She loves to make new friends and is always eager to socialize, especially if those new friends have tasty treats for her. Lady is a big fan of belly rubs, and her signature move is to roll on her back so you can rub her belly. Lady weighs about 23lbs, but could probably benefit from gaining a little bit of weight.
Lady came to us after she was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter. No family came forward for her. She appears to have had at least one litter of puppies, so it's possible she was used for breeding and then dumped. Whatever happened in her past life, Lady has forgotten, and she can't wait to have her fresh start with her fur-ever family.
Lady is such a darling and affectionate girl whose happy place is snuggled on the couch with her foster mom. She is a moderate-energy girl who loves to go out and explore, and she has even learned the joy of fetch. She makes a great morning and evening walking buddy and is happy to trot along, making new friends along the way. She has her basic manners down and is eager to learn - especially if there is yummy food involved!
Lady is the only dog in her foster home, but she seems interested in making dog friends and may do well with another easygoing dog companion. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only. Lady needs a kitty-free home. Lady could make a wonderful addition to a home with kids 7 years and older.
Lady is mostly housetrained, so she will need a family dedicated to helping her continue to learn. She does great in her crate at night and while her foster mom is at work. Lady has been doing very well living in an apartment.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.
Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
