All of our dogs are housed in private homes, we do not have a store or a shelter. We do not show dogs to interested parties until they have an approved adoption application. Rubin is a young adult male. If you are a hermit who lives at the lake, Rubin might be the dog for you. He loves to play in the water and he is very sweet but he is very anxious around new people and changes in his routine or environment. He does not do well in a car. He is very sweet and smart. Rubin will need continued exposure to new things and socialization to keep him outgoing and not anxious or scared. He does well with other dogs, he likes to play with them but sometimes he will test his canine friends. He is probably not good with cats.

Update 2/1/24. Rubin is doing better around new people. He has also been out in the yard with small dogs as well as the big dogs. He gets excited with the little ones but they put him in his place and he leaves them alone. He generally doesn't get into anything when loose in the house unless it's yummy left overs, then he might be tempted. He is doing better about getting in the car. Once he will get in the car, we will work on road trips. It's a slow process but it is rewarding to see him work through some of his anxiety. He truly is a people dog. He will also let you know if one of the other dogs needs to go out. If they bark, he will bark louder to let you know. Rubin is a comical dog, if you don't have a sense of humor and patience, he is not the dog for you.
